While the weather is slowly starting to heat up again in the Northern Hemisphere, it is important to continue staying internally warm with Ayurvedic spices.

Ginger is in the same family as turmeric and originates from the plant’s rootstalk or rhizome. It has a spicy yet sweet flavor, filled with tang. Like most herbs & spices, ginger is an excellent antioxidant in the sense that it can clean the body’s srotas, or inner transport system.

Ginger demonstrates the ability to reduce the severity of chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting (CINV). It can improve quality of life even by preventing CINV in individuals of all ages. This may be the case because ginger is also reported to be a digestive enhancer. All in all, ginger is the go-to tummy tonic!
